The infamous navy and baby blue La Perla swim trunks were offered at a starting bid of $5,000 at "50 Years of James Bond The Auction," which was held by Christies and Eon Productions. All the proceeds from the auction went to benefit twelve charitable institutions, including UNICEF UK and Childline.

The auction marks the 50th anniversary of the release of the first film in the James Bond franchise,
Dr. No (1962), which starred Sean Connery. October 5 is also officially known as Global James Bond Day.
